秀才柳毅赴京应试，途经泾河畔，见一牧羊女悲啼，询知为洞庭 龙女三娘，遣嫁泾河小龙，遭受虐待，乃仗义为三娘传送家书，入海会见洞庭龙王。叔钱塘君惊悉侄女被囚，赶奔泾河，杀死泾河小龙，救回龙女。三娘得救后，深感柳毅传书之义，请叔钱塘君作伐求配。柳毅为避 施恩图报之嫌，拒婚而归。三娘矢志不渝，偕其父洞庭君化身渔家父女同柳家邻里相处，与柳毅感情日笃，遂以真情相告。柳毅难辞，遂订齐眉之约，结为伉俪。。一名年轻军官与他的怀孕的妻子生活在军营里，因为一场政变军官被指控参与1976年的一场政治斗争，在妻子临盆的当天被捕入狱，之后他的妻子为了证明他是无辜而努力，最后终于被无罪释放一家团聚。。In 1966 the Spanish Army built a huge cemetery with over 5000 graves at Mirandilla Valley in Burgos for the final sequence in the film "The Good the Bad and the Ugly".
