Les, a small-time celebrity photographer(Buscemi) desperate to make it big befriends Toby, a homeless young man(Pitt) with no direction except a vague desire to become an actor. When by chance Toby becomes romantically involved with K'Harma Leeds,the hottest pop star of the moment, Les grows jealous and plots revenge.。很久以前，在祖国美丽的宝岛台湾，住着一位勇敢的青年大尖和一位美丽的姑娘水社。他们相互爱慕，常常在大树下相会。有一天，太阳和月亮被神秘的怪影吞掉了，整个大地陷入一片黑暗。原来，两条住在黑水潭的妖龙偷走了太阳和月亮。大尖和水社决心救出太阳和月亮。他们跋山涉水，在小动物们的帮助下找到了金斧头和金剪刀，杀死了妖龙，救出了太阳和月亮。为了保护太阳和月亮，他们守护在潭水边，后来变成了两座大山，一座叫大尖山，一座叫水社山。原先的黑水潭也变得清澈美丽了，人们便叫它日月潭。。
