物語は「監察医朝顔」のラストの翌年春から幕を開け、朝顔が母の遺体を探しに1人で東北を訪れたことによって新たな物語が紡がれていく。彼女が東日本大震災と母の死に深く向き合うさまや、前作では描けなかった東日本大震災以外の大規模災害にも相対する姿が切り取られる。。李勇是李家庄一名村医，医术高超，却没有行医资格证，他给村民打欠条治病，村民欠了他很多钱，因此李勇的老婆也跟他离婚，他为了争夺孩子抚养权，去找村民要村民还钱，可是村民不仅不还钱，举报了李勇，李勇被判非法行医，判决20年有期徒刑。。Weapons of Death is not the most original Polizi flick you're ever likely to see, but that's not too much of a problem since the genre tends to borrow from itself often anyway.
