马大富商场失败后，携妻子、两个女儿到偏僻的山村中开了一家旅店，旅店开张多日竟没有人生意。后在一疯妇的指引下，旅店中原来有猛鬼占据，致使没有生意。一家人用尽手段赶走猛鬼，终于迎来第一批客人。然而一夜之间，客人全部离奇死亡！为了小店能继续经营下去，大家没有张扬，而将尸体掩埋起来……。Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。
