1919年，随着第一次世界大战结束，被战火蹂躏的欧洲尚未恢复元气，旨在解决战争遗留问题和奠定和平基础的巴黎和会准备召开，中国作为战胜国之一，派出了时任驻美公使、全权代表顾维钧（陈道明 饰）等五人组成的代表团参加和会。然而在欧美各国以及日本等列强意欲重新划分势力范围的大环境下，中国代表团人数遭到削减、德国在山东的利益眼看也要落入日本之手。顾维钧在会议上慷慨陈词，驳斥日方无理要求，然而公理在利益面前显得多么脆弱。顾维钧好友肖克俭（何政军 饰）之妻梅（许晴 饰）专程赶赴巴黎，寻找投身爱国工人运动的克俭。克俭在法国的活动、以及国内浩大的群众呼声令和会中的顾维钧等感受到责任重大。。When Kira Slater inherits an Animal Reserve in South Africa she must decide whether to sell it or leave the safety of her life in Chicago and risk everything for this new world she has fallen in love with.
