描写抗战前夕，上海大法官徐定山因坚持严判日本军官大冢一郎奸杀中国女大学生案，被人暗杀街头。其女徐曼抬棺抗议，却遭到地痞流氓毒打，大学生金浩挺身相救，从此两人相识相近。在一系列抗日活动中，金浩和徐曼并肩锄奸，结下了更深的感情。。The film is based loosely around events in December 1995 that culminated in the murders of three drug dealers in Rettendon, Essex, UK.
